jesus camp

we watched jesus camp last night.

i guess i put it next to dumb and dumber in my netflix queue. so those were our choices. of course we picked dumb and dumber first, but when it wouldn't play we discovered the dvd had a big crack in it.

clearly we were meant to watch jesus camp.

i was surprised because the film didn't inspire in me the typical gloom and doom fear thoughts about our nation's children. i just couldn't muster any righteous indignation.

i'm by no means agreeing with any religious zealots, but neither do i believe for one minute that the two filmmakers didn't have an agenda. i found i almost had more respect for the kids in the film than i did for the filmmakers. they may have been trained to be crazy, but at least they were sincere.
